Online breakup, separation & divorce group
Let’s talk about life
after the breakup.
Maybe ending it was your choice. Maybe it wasn’t. Either way, you can spend a surprising amount of your day thinking about someone who’s no longer in your life in the same way. This is a place to talk about all of that, with people who get why it’s complicated.
Tuesdays, 5–6 p.m. Pacific · October 13–December 1, 2026
Eight weekly sessions · $45 per session · Adults 18+
Your group therapist
There’s probably more to it than “I miss them.”
When a relationship ends, a lot can end with it: routines, mutual friends, plans, the version of yourself you were with that person. You might want them back and feel frustrated with yourself for wanting that. You might know the relationship is over and still wish it didn’t hurt so much.
Friends can care about you and still run out of things to say. In this group, we’ll have time to stay with the parts you’re still trying to understand, and to think together about what might help.
It’s okay to have conflicting feelings. This group can help you make sense of them.
Some things you might recognize
- You keep rereading messages or wondering whether to send one.
- You’re questioning your judgment, your worth, or what was real.
- The quiet parts of the day are harder than you expected.
- You’re figuring out boundaries while still sharing kids, friends, or responsibilities.
- You want to understand what happened without spending every day going over it.
What we’ll talk about
The part that still hurts
Missing them. Being angry. Feeling rejected. Wondering why you’re still upset. You get to talk honestly without having to make your feelings sound reasonable first.
What happens to you in relationships
We’ll look at the things you do to stay close, keep the peace, or avoid being hurt, and whether those habits are still working for you.
Life outside the relationship
How to handle contact, lonely evenings, mutual friends, and dating again when you’re ready. We’ll also talk about what you want more room for in your own life.
Meet Andrew
Hi, I’m Andrew.
I’ll be in this with you.
I’ve been a therapist for over ten years. I often work with thoughtful people who put a lot into their relationships and can be pretty hard on themselves when things don’t work out.
My style is conversational, warm, and direct. I’ll ask questions, help us notice patterns, and make sure there’s room for different experiences. We can talk about painful things and still have moments of humor and connection.
Each week, we’ll check in and spend time with what people bring. I’ll guide the conversation, offer ideas, and help you learn from one another. You won’t need a polished story or a speech prepared.
Join from your state.
This online therapy group is open to adults in California, Minnesota, Vermont, South Dakota, and Florida. You’ll need to be physically in one of these states for each meeting.
We meet Tuesdays at 5–6 p.m. Pacific / 6–7 Mountain / 7–8 Central / 8–9 Eastern. The first eight meetings run October 13 through December 1, 2026. Florida services are provided through my out-of-state telehealth registration.
A few practical questions
I’ve never been in a therapy group. Will it be awkward?
It might feel a little unfamiliar at first. That’s okay. I’ll help with introductions and getting the conversation started. You can take time to get comfortable, and you don’t have to tell your whole story on the first night.
What if we’re still in contact, or the breakup wasn’t recent?
You’re welcome to ask about joining. People don’t all arrive at the same point, and sharing kids or other responsibilities can make a clean break impossible. We’ll have a brief conversation about what’s going on and whether this group would be useful for you.
Can my partner or former partner come too?
This group is for you to attend individually. Partners and former partners won’t be placed in the same group. If you’re looking for help together, we can talk about a different option.
How much do I have to share? How do we protect privacy?
You decide how much detail to share, and you can pass on a question. Before we begin, we’ll agree to keep other members’ identities and stories private, join from a private space, and make no recordings or screenshots. I’ll explain my professional confidentiality responsibilities and their limits. Everyone agrees to protect the group’s privacy, though I can’t guarantee another person’s actions.
Can I use insurance?
Possibly. We can check together whether your plan is an option for this group and what your cost would be before you join. The self-pay price is $45 per session.
How do I sign up? Do I need a consultation appointment first?
Use the form below and choose “Relationship-loss group.” I’ll get in touch to arrange a brief conversation, usually about ten minutes, and answer your questions. You don’t need to find a 30-minute opening on my calendar first. Sending the form doesn’t commit you to joining; we’ll confirm fit and your place together.
What if I need to miss a meeting?
We’re planning to meet for eight consecutive Tuesdays, and coming consistently helps us get to know one another. If you already know you’ll miss a date, tell me when we talk. We’ll go over attendance and payment arrangements before you decide to join.
Want to join us?
Leave your contact details and choose “Relationship-loss group.” I’ll get in touch so we can talk briefly, answer your questions, and see if it feels like a good fit.
